Some time ago, we went outside to create contour drawings of the marshfield and surrounding area. It was a beautiful day, and the students discovered that it can be difficult to execute a nice contour. It is difficult to draw what we see and not what are minds think is there.

We have had some great experiences with not just art this week but the residents of Carrington Place across the street from the highschool. Both Shaping Lives classes spent two class periods in the company of the residents to celebrate Assisted Living Week. Below are some pics form the visit.
I loved seeing our students interact with the residents of Carrington Place. It also placed some students in a social situation they could grow from in terms of communication and learning from a person who has lived in a different time than they have.
