Art Club and Valentine's Day

Several Art Club members have been creating ceramic hearts, gift card with envelopes and paper flowers to sell as a fundraiser for Valentine's Day.  A number of students have put in numerous hours in the creation of products.

More Art!

One of our hours (3rd hour to be exact) is particularly interesting in that we have three different classes meeting.  In this hour we create Jewelry, Sculpture and one lucky student has Creative Studio. The Creative Studio student is working on her interpretations of Van Gogh's "Starry Starry Night".  Pictures to follow on a later date for that project!  In Sculpture we actually created some birds out of clay as did the Ceramics II course.  Jewelry class has been making beads out of clay for bracelets.  The clay beads are going through the firing process as I type this and the students cannot wait to glaze them!  Our next Jewelry projects falls under the realm of  "wearable art".  We will be making scarves out of t-shirts and adorning them with objects that are specific to the creator.

100 Hundred Days of Dragons

All of the classes have donated a little of their time to color dragons in celebration of 100 days of school.  Yes, our 100th day was a week ago and we are a little behind.  Below are a few of our dragons.

Ceramics Update!

The Ceramics II course is busy!  The class is currently split into three different work groups.  Five lucky students are spending two weeks using the wheel, several students who were using the wheel are now creating their birds in clay and the third group is moving forward into making a functional tea service set.  For the tea service we are using modern and traditional adaptations of a Japanese tea set.

Can You Say Pop Art!

Recently, the Intro classes viewed a presentation of pop art and Andy Warhol.  Students then created their own versions of pop art on paper using different mediums.  Below are results and works in progress!
